As you can probably tell…
I am a Graphic Designer. I love print design and installations but have worked in UX/UI design. I love creating designs that have a human touch to them. Whether that is hand stitching pages for added texture or doing iconography from scratch, I put my heart and soul (and sometimes blood, sweat, and tears) into my work.
Like any person striving to have any semblance of work life balance, I have a life outside of my work, (you can catch a sneak peak of that here). I love to cook and experiment with food, and as someone with an annoying amount of allergies, things get creative. If there’s a farmer’s market nearby, I’m probably there, finding the best tomatoes, snackin on samples, and buying plants that I definitely don’t have the room for. I love to garden and am slowly turning my home into a jungle. It’s pretty rad. I spend a lot of time outdoors, playing with my rescue pup Tumbleweed, on hikes or just enjoying some sunshine. I love to write and have won awards for my poetry and would love to publish a book one day. If you spend any amount of time with me, you will learn that I love true crime. Like a lot. Like my boyfriend is a little nervous by how fascinated I am by it. I’m an avid podcast listener and reader and have a constant queue.
I should also mention that I love to travel. I lived in Florence, Italy for 6 months and changed the trajectory of my life. It taught me that “taking scenic route” (in every sense of the phrase) is always better. When I moved to Los Angeles in July of 2016, instead of shipping my car, I packed up the things I cared about, sold everything else and took two weeks to drive across the country. In the spring of 2018, I went on a 16 day road trip from Los Angeles to Victoria BC. There’s just too much out there to stay at home.
I grew up in Baltimore, MD, eating Old Bay popsicles and running around with pet crabs. Not really, I did grow up in Baltimore, though. The Baltimore accent is a real thing (ask me to say ambulance sometime), bloody marys are delicious and the Maryland flag is the best flag; I won’t be convinced otherwise. There are lots of things that have shaped me into the person I am. But the best way to really get to know me is in person, so drop me a note and let’s grab some coffee!
